Undivided Attention Promotional Graphic

What has your attention has your heart, which is why there may be no better way to make a difference in your life than to recalibrate your attention. Join us at Redeemer to find hope and healing from what Jesus said is worth our undivided attention.

This week we focus on putting our resources to work. Many to think that what the church really wants is money. And while there’s no doubt some Christians have given that impression, it’s because they lost focus on what matters most. Talk of what to do with our money makes little sense until we have understood our relationship to God. Only then will we discover that it’s not really about what the church wants with our resources, it’s about what our neighbor needs from them.

See, the world of money in which we live is governed by one principle: you have to store up as much as you can. You have to do this on the suspicion that there’s never enough, not enough time, not enough resources, not enough happiness. So it’s every man for himself. Get what you can, take what you want. This is darkness. Abundance without dependence.

But the world God has made and one day will restore forever is governed by an entirely different principle: empty the barns. Serve others, bless others, take only what you need, give more than you can. It’s not every man for himself, it’s every man for every man. This is light. Abundance out of dependence.
