What has your attention has your heart, which is why there may be no better way to make a difference in your life than to recalibrate your attention. Find hope and healing from what Jesus said is worth your undivided attention.
This week we focus on service. The average person thinks that what the church really wants to put people to work. And while there’s no doubt some Christians have given that impression, it’s because they lost focus on what matters most. Before we can even talk about service for Jesus we have to seek service from Jesus. Only then will we find genuine joy in the ways God has invited us to serve others.
The disciples of Jesus weren’t listening. But Mary was. The disciples would take everything Jesus said and filter it through their own expectations. In their mind there was no way for God’s promised Messiah to die. Mary, on the other hand, appears to have been the truer disciple, in a sense. She didn’t filter what Jesus said. She actually listened.
